Breckel, Jeffery

Jeffery P. Breckel, 44, of Mascoutah, IL died Monday, October 21, 2013 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, GA. He was born May 18, 1969 in Wichita, KS son of Dale and Carol (Comstock) Breckel. He married Victoria L. vonHatten on June 1, 1991 in New Baden, IL and she survives in Mascoutah, IL. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, Dale and Carol Breckel of Breese, IL; his children, Joshua Breckel and Emma Breckel of Mascoutah; two brothers, Jay (Amy) Breckel of Cadiz, KY and Gary (Cari) Breckel of Hazelwood, MO; a sister, Leann (Linus) Wilke of Breese; mother-in-law, Marilyn H. vonHatten of New Baden; a sister-in-law, Linda (James) Miller of New Baden; and he is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Victor L. vonHatten and a brother-in-law, David vonHatten in infancy. Mr. Breckel was a Customer Engineer for NCR. He was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. He was very active in the Lookingglass Playhouse Theater in Lebanon, IL. He enjoyed acting, writing, and directing. Jeff grew up in Lebanon, was a graduate of Lebanon High School, class of 1987 and during his high school years he played baseball and also went to State in Cross Country. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 and from8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his children’s education fund and will be received at the funeral home.
