Frank H. Bux, 89, of New Baden, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Clinton Manor Living Center in New Baden. He was born April 20, 1922 in Belleville, son of Otto Ed and Elizabeth (Rech) Bux. He married Rose Marie Hemann on June 21, 1947 in New Baden and they celebrated their 64th anniversary this past June. In addition to his wife, Rose Marie Bux of New Baden, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Glen) Albers of New Baden and Cheri (John) Rieger of Trenton; five grandchildren, Craig (Lisa) Humphrey, Amy (Andrew) Kaelin, Jill (David) Jensen, Jay (special friend, Trina) Rieger and Sara Rieger; three great-grandchildren, Drew Kaelin, Hayden Humphrey, and Emmett Kaelin; and a sister-in-law, Helen Hemann of New Baden. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Bux and Otto Bux; three sisters, Margaret Kapp, Bernice Stacey, and Mary Staub; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dolores Bux, Sylvia Bux, William Stacey, Clyde Staub, Robert "Bob" and Berdelle "Birdie" Hemann, Virginia and Robert Kiefer, Orville Hemann, and Adeline and Eugene Willmann. Mr. Bux was a bottler for Stag Brewery for 42 years and retired in 1984. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a member of St. George Parish and was past president of the Holy Name Society in New Baden. He was a member of the American Legion Post 321 in New Baden for 60 years in 2011; a member of the Stag Brewery Retirees Club, AARP, a former member of the Belleville/Swansea Moose Lodge #1221 and was a charter member of the New Baden Lions Club. Frank enjoyed big band music, dancing and water skiing. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Bishop Stanley G. Schlarman, presiding, Rev. Gene Neff, homilist and Rev. Dale Maxfield, concelebrating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 5 p.m. and the American Legion will visit at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. George Parish Cemetery Fund or St. George Parish Building Fund will be received at the funeral home.
