Catherine L. McRoy

Catherine L. McRoy of Centralia, IL died Wednesday February 16, 2011 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo at the age of 79 years. Catherine was born south of Carlyle, IL on July 13, 1931 the daughter of Louis and Lucille (Grayling) Jasper. She married John McRoy in December of 1953 and they were later divorced.Catherine is survived by two daughters: Susan Ferguson and husband Fred and Shelly Smith, all of Centralia; a son John McRoy and wife Shelly of Bartelso, IL; a sister: Marilyn Zobrist of Highland, IL; a brother: Laverne Jasper of Beckemeyer; four grandchildren: Christy Little, John Ferguson and Taylor and Dalton McRoy; and four great grandchildren: Destiny, Jaydon and Trayton Little and Tyler Ferguson.Mrs. McRoy was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law: Larry Smith; and brother-in-law: Leonard Zobrist.Catherine was retired from North American Rockwell. She enjoyed being with her family and good friends.Graveside services will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the Beckemeyer Cemetery with Rev. Dallas Nickel officiating.Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 2 to 3:00 P.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.For those who desire, memorials may be made in Catherine’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
