Earl Swayze Jr

Earl Swayze Jr, died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle, Illinois at the age of 87 years. Earl was born in Trinity Springs, Indiana on July 13, 1923, the son of Earl Walter and Ruby (Mattie) Swayze. He married Mary Moloy Swayze on June 26, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana and she survives in Breese, Illinois.Mr. Swayze is also survived by two daughters: Karen Rosen & husband Jeff of Bethesda, Maryland, Kathy Mills of Pocahontas, Illinois; a son: William Swayze & wife Bella Cefalo of Portsmith, New Hampshire.A sister Charleen Katherine Swayze Goerges, Four Grandchildren: Aaron Hewett, John Mills & wife Missy, Tom Mills & wife Wendy, and Amanda Rosen. Three Great Grandchildren; Madison Mills, Phillip Mills, and Melanie Kathryn MillsEarl was preceded by his parents, two sisters; Patsy Swayze, and Barbara Phillippi: one brother George Swayze, and his son-in-law John C. Mills.Earl was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston, Illinois. He lived in the Clinton County area for over 12 years. Mr. Swayze served in the United States Marine Corps. during World War II and enjoyed the time spent with his family.A memorial service will be held at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Fr. Dan Friedman officiating on Friday, November 26, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, St. Francis Church, or the charity of donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.
