Jerry 'J.D.' Hopper

Jerry “J.D.” Hopper of Keyesport died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville at the age of 51 years. J.D. was born in Breese on November 29, 1958 the son of Gerald and Ruth Ann (Lowe) Hopper.J.D. is survived by his parents: Gerald and Ruth Ann Hopper of Keyesport; three daughters: Lauren Stengel and husband Bob of Keyesport; Taylor Hopper of Carlyle and Jaydn Hopper of Keyesport.J.D. was preceded in death by a sister; Darla Hopper; and a brother: Toby Hopper.J.D. formerly was in the restaurant business and had been employed at the Greenville Federal Correctional Institution. He was an avid sports fan.Funeral services will be Saturday at the Frerker Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. The interment will follow at the McKendree Chapel Cemetery near Keyesport.Friends may visit the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8:00 P.M. or on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of services.The family suggests that memorials be made to J.D.’s memory to his children.Expressions of sympathy can be sent to J.D.’s family by visiting www.frerkerfuneral.com .
