McGinn, Esther E. - Hempen Funeral Home - Albers, Aviston, Breese, New Baden, IL - 618-588-3533// Esther E. McGinn, 77, of West Frankfort, formerly of New Baden, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at St. Joseph Hospital in Murphysboro. She was born September 29, 1929 in Macoupin County, Illinois, daughter of R.O. and Mildred (Wiser) Miller. She married Floyd L. McGinn, Sr. on August 31, 1949 in Paducah, KY and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1994. She is survived by two sons, Mark McGinn of Mexico, Floyd McGinn, Jr. and wife Nancy of Trenton; two daughters, Dottie Weatherford of West Frankfort, and Diane Ziembecki and husband Steve of Highland, IN; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Jason, and Jonathan Weatherford, Morton McGinn, David McGinn and wife Darlene, Kristina Wagner and husband Ron, Anthony Griesbaum, Sara & Jacob Hamel, Melissa Curry and husband Kevin, Kelsey, Katie and Alexis Ziembecki; two step grandchildren, Julie Renth and Susan Ebers; ten great grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen Griesbaum on October 1, 2006 and a son-in-law, Michael Griesbaum on January 18, 2007; son-in-law Ernest Weatherford, August, 2005; two brothers and one sister; she was also preceded in death by her uncle and aunt Morton and Eula Diefenbach who raised her from infancy following the death of her mother. Mrs. McGinn was a homemaker and a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Marion. She loved to bake and crochet and many people were recipients of her cookies and afghans. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at New Life Christian Center, 555 North Monroe, Trenton, IL with Rev. Robert Wutzler officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at a later date. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the New Life Christian Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Ministries, Kakamega, Kenya & will be received either at the church or Hempen Funeral Home.
