Leona M. Mondt, 92, of Breese, Ill. died Friday, November 11, 2005 at Caring First in Breese, Ill. She was born on July 22, 1913 in Breese, daughter of Anton and Mary (Haar) Strake.She married Aloysius Mondt in 1949 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1961. She is survived by a brother, Victor Strake and wife Lorraine of Breese; a sister, Marcella Stuever of Breese; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Strake of Breese and Margaret Mondt of Aviston; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Strake and Tom Strake; three sisters, Agnes Strake, in infancy, Henrietta Gorchock and Florence Pschorr; brothers-in-law, Tony Mondt, Fredilan Mondt, Fred Stuever, John Gorchock and Ken Pschorr; sisters-in-law, Virginia Strake and Dorothy Mondt. Mrs. Mondt was a member of St. Augustine Parish and Altar Sodality. She was a retired housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, Ill. There will be a memorial mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at St. Augustine Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Building Fund or to the donor’s choice. Hempen Funeral Home in Breese is in charge of arrangements.
