Ronald Elmer Singler, 70, of Damiansville, died Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home in New Baden. He was born May 21, 1947 in Breese, the son of Elmer and Marie, nee Timmermann, Singler. Ron and Judy Dall were united in marriage in 1966; after her passing, he was united in marriage to Cindy Guerin in 1981.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Singler; his daughters, Shelly (Dale) Robke, Sheila (Brad) Dierkes, Shirley (Tim) Mugele, Mandy (Jeff) Kohlbrecher, Jenna (Daniel) Henry, and Katy (Kerry) Singler; 11 grandchildren, Brenden (Jessica) Taylor, Chad Robke, Breann Taylor, Mitchell (Courtney) Mugele, Calvin (Erin) Robke, Ryan Mugele, Jack Dierkes, Kora Eversgerd, Kenley Henry, Kit Eversgerd, and River Smith; three sisters, Donna (Tom) LaCaze, Judy (Bill) Hemann, and Gwen (Mic) Middleton; his mother-in-law, Sharol Guerin; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Barb & Craig Rice, Deb & Greg Wehrle, and Sherri & Joe Toenjes.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Paul Povolish; and his father-in-law, Ed Guerin.
Ronnie was a member of St. Damian Parish and Quails Forever. He worked at Gateway Regional Medical Center and read meters for Clinton County Electric Cooperative. He loved hunting, working on the farm, drinking cherry brandy, visiting with friends, and criticizing Cindy’s cooking. More than anything, he loved being with his family.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden, with a celebration of life to be held after at Fuehne’s Tavern in Damiansville.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
