Floyd P. Schuetz, 71, of New Memphis, died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. He was born February 2, 1940 in Johannisburg Twp., Okawville, son of Gilbert and Thekla (Blanken) Schuetz, Sr. He is survived by his children, Michelle Schuetz of Mascoutah, Craig (Monica) Schuetz of Aviston, Kerry (Ron) Foppe of Breese, and Brad (Eileen) Schuetz of Travis AFB, CA; seven grandchildren, Shannon Schuetz, Colin Schuetz, Blake Foppe, Carmen Foppe, Justin Foppe, Aubrey Schuetz, and Elijah Schuetz; a brother, Kenneth (Irene) Schuetz of Breese; three sisters, Janet (Delmar) Wulf of Addiville, Diane (Bob) Terveer of Freeburg, and Carol (Bob) Rolves of Albers; a brother-in-law, Leroy Lehde of Nashville and a sister-in-law, Barb Schuetz of Sullivan, MO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Lehde & Doris Mae Waltrip; three brothers, Earl Schuetz, Gilbert Schuetz, Jr. and Donald L. Schuetz; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Schuetz. Mr. Schuetz was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Laborers Local 742 in Mascoutah. He enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, mushroom hunting, gathering and processing pecans and attending area sports events. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Deacon Charles Litteken officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
