Helen R. Schulte, 89, of Aviston, Ill. died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at her home. She was born December 19, 1916 in Aviston, Ill. and was the last surviving daughter of Joseph and Anna (Brinkmann) Horenkamp. She married Alphonse H. Schulte on September 4, 1950 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on July 17, 1975. Mrs. Schulte is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Schulte of Aviston, two sisters-in-law, Lorreine Horenkamp of O’Fallon, Ill. and Ruth Schulte of St. Louis, MO. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Joseph Horenkamp, John Horenkamp, Elizabeth Aubuchon, Theresa Horenkamp, Frank Horenkamp, Emma Otten, Laurence Horenkamp and Mary & Herman Horenkamp in infancy; her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Mary Horenkamp, Edmond Aubuchon, Bernard Otten and Dorothy Horenkamp, Henry & Lucy Schulte, George Schulte, William & Tillie Schulte, Hilda Schulte and Otto & Marie Schulte. Mrs. Schulte retired from the State Bank of Aviston as an assistant cashier on May1, 1992. She was a member of St. Francis Parish and Ladies Altar Sodality in Aviston, Ill. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Robert Gore officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Church or Hospice VNA Tip and will be received at the funeral home.
