Paul G. Timmermann, 83, of Breese, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. He was born January 27, 1930 in Breese, son of Edwin and Alvina (Kohlbrecher) Timmermann. He married Veronica M. Woltering September 5, 1955 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese and she preceded him in death March 26, 2009. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Steve) Davey of Christopher, Kurt (Lisa) Timmermann of Breese, and Kara (Jim “Jock”) Toennies of Albers; eight grandchildren; a brother, James “Jim” (Ruth) Timmermann of Carlyle; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kathryn “Toots” Timmermann of Breese, Joan & Dave Neff of Germantown, Daniel Woltering of Centralia; and special friend, Edna Woltering of Carlyle. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Timmermann; a brother, Robert Timmermann; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norbert & Grace Woltering, Alfred & Rose Woltering, Charles Woltering, Juliana L. & Joseph F. Becker, Laura & Francis Schuette, and Sister Mary Myles, SSND. Mr. Timmermann was a laborer for Local 397 in Granite City before his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Dominic Parish in Breese. All services are private. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese who is in charge of arrangements.
