Albert "Shorty" John Deimeke, 85, of Albers and a resident of Aviston Countryside Manor, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born August 9, 1930 in Albers, the son of Alois and Sophie (Schulte) Deimeke.
Albert is survived by his sisters, Irene Hegger of Albers and Sister Rita Maureen Demieke, SSND. of St. Louis; a sister-in-law, RoseAnn Deimeke of Albers; nieces and nephews, Bonnie Deimeke, Mark (Ruth) Hegger, Timothy (Carolyn) Hegger, Lisa (Greg) Martindale, Alan Hegger, Cindy (Chuck) Hubert, and David Deimeke; he is also survived by great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Vince and Paul Deimeke; a brother-in-law, Adolph “Buck” Hegger; and a nephew-in-law, Bernard Deimeke.
Mr. Deimeke retired from Clinton County Farm Services. He was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Men’s Sodality, and also a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Rev. Jack Joyce and Deacon Glenn Netemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 and again on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in Albers.
Memorials may be made for Masses and will be received at the funeral home.
