Angela Marie Blockyou

Angela Marie Blockyou, age 54, of New Baden passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Red Bud, IL on August 14, 1968, the daughter of Jerome and LaVerne (Wilke) Schoenherr. She married Kevin Blockyou in Nashville, IL on April 21, 1989 and he survives in New Baden.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Courtney Gallagher and wife Carie Jean, Bailey Blockyou, and step-son, Mark Blockyou; step-grandson, Gavin Blockyou; her siblings: Janice Johnson and husband Otto, Donald Schoenherr and wife Camille, and Kenneth Schoenherr and wife Debbie; mother-in-law, Clara Hall; brother-in-law, Donnie Blockyou; sister-in-law, Debra Pietsch and husband Charles; nieces and nephews; Kyle Schoenherr and wife Jayme, Dylan Schoenherr, Kaelyn Henson and husband Jake, and Mason Pietsch; great nephews, Carter and Ty.

Mrs. Blockyou was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerne Schoenherr and father, Jerome Schoenherr; and mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Blockyou and father-in-law Roger Blockyou.

Angela was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove. She was the assistant manager at FCB Bank in New Baden for 10 years. After she and Kevin married, she developed a new found love for camping and it quickly became one of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed sitting around the bonfire and being outdoors making memories with her family. Other hobbies included crafts, traveling Route 66, and taking jeep rides.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Lively Grove.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, March 10, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lively Grove, IL and from 9:00 until 10:15 AM on Saturday at church.
