Armella Marcella Walgren

Armella Marcella Walgren, age 90 of Oro Valley, Arizona, formerly of Carlyle passed away at her residence on January 2, 2013. Mrs. Walgren was born on January 8, 1922 in East St. Louis, IL the daughter of Earl and Helen (Koester) Burnett. She married Sherman Walgren on July 3, 1945.

Along with her husband Armella is survived by her daughter Carleen Miner of Oro Valley, AZ; two brothers: Clifford Burnett and wife Betty of St. Louis, Mo, Clarence “Doc” Burnett and his wife Bonnie of Carlyle; her granddaughter Laurel Ann Vocke and two great grandchildren: Justin Lane Nichols and Tristin Allen Nichols.

Armella lived in Carlyle before moving to Oro Valley, AZ where she resided for the past 13 years. She also worked as the food service director at Arcadia High School in Arcadia, CA for 32 years.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Keith Michaels officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday January 7, 2013 at the Frerker Funeral Home from 6 until 8:00 PM. and on Tuesday from 8 until 1:00 PM also at the funeral home.

Memorials in honor of Armella are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Carlyle Cemetery Association or the charity of donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
