Judith Ann Athmer, 55, of Albers, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born February 9, 1953 in Breese, daughter of Ray and Florence (Mensing) Beckmann and they survive in Germantown. She married Thomas A. Athmer on February 8, 1974 in Germantown and he survives in Albers. In addition to her husband and her parents she is survived by her children, Scott T. Athmer and wife Deb, Daniel R. Athmer and wife Jan, Michael J. Athmer and fiancée, Courtney Brandmeyer, and Tracy A. Athmer all of Albers; one grandson, Kyle Athmer; a brother, David Beckmann and wife Betty of Carterville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Gloria Athmer of Belleville, Louise and Ron Reed of Germantown, Robert and Linda Athmer, Jeanette Athmer all of Aviston, Mary and Leonard Beer of Bartelso and Bernard and Lynn Athmer of Albers. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Clara Athmer. Mrs. Athmer was an office manager at Rehkemper Construction in Breese. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish in Albers. Judy was a breast cancer survivor and she supported the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation and Clinton County Relay For Life. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Don Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden.
