Bailey Marie George, age 20, of Aviston passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born on April 13, 1995, at Scott Air Force Base Hospital, in Shiloh, IL, the daughter of Randy George and Shelise Zurliene.
Bailey is survived by her mother, Shelise, and step-father, Craig Zurliene, of Aviston; her father, Randy, and step-mother, Mari George, of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother and a sister: Caleb and Maris Zurliene, both of Aviston; her maternal grandparents: Larry and Cindy Gunter of Belleville; her paternal grandparents Jerry and Dorothy George of New Athens; her step-grandparents: George and Gay Zurliene of Breese and Gary and Pat Hagen of Mesa, AZ; aunts and uncles: Shauna and Aaron Bronsman of Smithton, Brent and Natalie George of St. Louis, Trish and Mike Weilmuenster of Belleville, Eric and Denise Zurliene of Aviston; Tommy and Kelly Zurliene of Aviston: Her boyfriend, Ben Woolems, and many loving friends , cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
She was preceded in death by her step- grandmother, Sharon Zurliene.
Bailey was a 2013 graduate of Mater Dei High School in Breese where she ran cross country. She attended the University of Evansville and was a member of the University of Evansville Cross Country Team. Bailey was kind, loving, caring, and always put others first. She always went out of her way to help and support her younger siblings.
Funeral Services will be held for Bailey at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 8, 2016, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Deacon Charlie Litteken officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Visitation for Bailey will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston on Thursday, January 7, 2016, and again on Friday from 8 until 9:30 AM.
Memorials are suggested to the Melanoma Research Foundation, University of Evansville Cross Country Program, Camp His Kids, or Kamp Kanakuk and will be accepted at Nordike Funeral Home.
