Juliana L. Becker, 85, of Breese, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born February 16, 1923 in Breese, daughter of Bernard and Anna (Wessel) Woltering. She married Joseph F. Becker on June 18, 1946 at St. Augustine Church in Breese and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2005. She is survived by her children, Margaret Foppe and husband Roger, John Becker and special friend Nancy Nettemeier, Charles Becker, James Becker and wife Marcia, Barbara Von Alst and husband John, Julia Becker and husband Phil, all of Breese and Alicia Smith and husband Kermit of Houston, TX; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers & sisters, Norbert Woltering and wife Grace of Florissant, MO, Veronica Timmermann and husband Paul of Aviston, Joan Neff and husband David of Germantown, Daniel Woltering of Centralia; sister-in-law, Brenda Becker of Aiken, SC; special friends, Edna Woltering of Carlyle and Leora Becker of Breese. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Woltering and Charles Woltering; two sisters, Laura Schuette and Sister Mary Myles, SSND; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rose Woltering, Francis Woltering, Melvin and Helen Becker, Victor and Miriam Becker, John Becker, and Edward Becker. Mrs. Becker and her husband established Joseph F. Becker Masonry in 1948. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Altar Sodality, a charter member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post 252 Auxiliary in Breese. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2008 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2008 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. The American Legion Auxiliary will visit the funeral home at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Memorials may be made to Mater Dei High School or St. Joseph Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.
