Becker, Viola

Viola W. Becker, 86, of Breese, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. She was born November 25, 1922 in Breese, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Timmermann) Hustedde. She married Victor George Becker at St. Dominic Church in Breese on October 20, 1949 and he preceded her in death on October 21, 1979. Mrs. Becker is survived by her children, Dr. Jim (Kimberly) Becker of Huntington, West Virginia, Fred Becker of Breese, Louise (Kenneth) Korhorn of Glen Ellyn, Kathleen (Robert) Leimetter of Lombard, and Joan (John) Cary of Glen Ellyn; eight grandchildren, Karen (Chris) Szarek, Michael Korhorn, Elizabeth Leimetter, Matthew Leimetter, Patrick Cary, Stephen Cary, Robert Cary, and Katherine Lee; two sisters, Mary Hitpas and Josephine Hustedde; and a brother, Joe (Lucille) Hustedde. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by two children in infancy; three brothers, Frank H. Hustedde, Edwin Hustedde, and Gerhard Hustedde; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laura Hustedde, Edwin Hitpas, Cecelia Hustedde, and Alvina Hustedde. Mrs. Becker formerly worked as a secretary for Carlyle Health Care and was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Ladies Altar Sodality in Breese.. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Msgr. William Hitpas, Rev. Ben Stern and Rev. Chuck Tuttle concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Dominic Parish and will be received at the funeral home.
