Florence M. Bell, 83, of St. Louis, MO, died Monday, January 14, 2008 at St. John Skilled Nursing Center in Creve Coeur, MO. She was born July 6, 1924 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Elmer and Celestine (Duba) Oakes. She married Val C. Bell in St. Louis, Mo on April 15, 1944. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1977. She is survived by a son, Michael D. Bell and his wife Diana of Trenton, IL and a daughter, Patricia B. DeHart and her husband James of St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren, Michael D. (Tiffany) Bell, Steven Bell, Jimmy (Michelle) DeHart, Derrick (Marla) Husmann, Todd (Christy) Bell, Kevin (Johnna) DeHart, Amanda Husmann, Craig (Carrie) DeHart, and Dennis (Cari) DeHart; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Jake, Nichole, Kristin, Zach, Lauren, Jayson, Amy, Mason, Chloe, Emerson, Jonathan, Collin, and Renna. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce McBride of St. Louis, MO and her dear friend, Roger Dahms of St. Louis, MO. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Oakes and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Oakes. Mrs. Bell was a secretary for a Temp Agency. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Ortmann-Stipanovich Funeral Home, 1244 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Cameron officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, MO Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
