Bernice F. “Becy” Foppe, 92, of Aviston, died Friday, June 29, 2018 at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was born December 6, 1925 in Aviston, daughter of Herman and Theresa “Bertha” (Stoff) Fuhler. She married Ray Foppe on June 18, 1946 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on January 2, 1987.
Becy is survived by her children, Donna (Mike) Nettemeier of Breese, Glenn (Colleen) Foppe of Carlyle, Tom (Mary) Foppe of St. Louis, MO, Bets (Ron) Eversgerd of Germantown, and Jeff (Shawn) Foppe of Springfield, TN; son-in-law, Jim Markus of Aviston; grandchildren, Cindy (Doug) Kuhl, Brent Nettemeier, Ryan (Sara) Nettemeier, Patrick (Danielle) Foppe, Kevin (Leslie) Foppe, Jill (Dwayne) Cunningham, Scott (Deonna) Markus, Stacey (Shannon) Boruff, Steve (Emily) Markus, Shane (Christina) Foppe, Kyle (Meghan) Foppe, Tara (Glen) Beckmann, Chad (Ashley) Eversgerd, Aaron (Jenny) Eversgerd, Christa (Josh) James, and Bryan (Alicia) Eversgerd; great-grandchildren, Kristin (Daniel) Ruble, Austin and Logan Kuhl, Gavin, Ella, Chase Nettemier, Shaelynn Cunningham, Vince Foppe, Mikayla, Brianna, Noah Markus, Coty and Dalton Boruff, Raelynn Markus, Brady and Brooke Foppe, Ellie Foppe, Jacob, Mitchell, and Savannah Albers, Claire Eversgerd, Gracyn, Nora, Cecilia Eversgerd, Regan James and Mason Eversgerd; great-great grandchildren: Rebecca and Maria Rubble; a brother, Don (Jane) Fuhler of New Baden, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmer “Buddy” Perkes of Breese, Jo Ann Fuhler of Breese and Lorene Sudholt of Aviston.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Markus; granddaughter, Lynn Nettemeier; her sisters, brothers and inlaws: Viola “Ollie” (Gus) Wellen, Edna (Cyril “Tuffy”) Markus, Irene (Ray) Buscher, Thelma "Timmy" (Cyril) Ahtmer, Marie (Clarence “Sheepy”) Albers, Jeanette Perkes, Ralph Fuhler, Dolores and Richard Dean, Ernie Sudholt, Mildred and Eddie Kapp.
Mrs. Foppe retired after 19 years from Central High School as a cook. She was a member of St. Francis Parish and Altar Sodality.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
