Berns, Catherine

Catherine E. Berns, 90, formerly of St. Louis, MO, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born May 11, 1916 in Aviston, daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Imming) Berns. She is survived by one brother, Dr. Paul Berns and wife Shirley of Breese, and nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Berns, and one sister, Virginia Kuenne. Ms. Berns was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland. She was a retired bookkeeper. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4 at the church. Memorials may be made to masses and will be received at the church. Hempen Funeral Home in Aviston is in charge of arrangements.
