Beverly “Becky” Manfucci of Carlyle passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center at the age of 85 years. Beverly was born in Central City, Illinois on December 25, 1933, the daughter of William and Edith (Telford) Crane. She married Benedict “Ben” Manfucci on December 29, 1951 in Sandoval, and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2015.
Mrs. Manfucci is survived by her children: Deb Lyons and husband Allen of Carlyle, Tony Manfucci and wife Sandy of Carlyle, Chris Manfucci and wife Carol of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Scott Manfucci and wife Janie of Centralia; grandchildren: Tammy Frailey, Autumn Bayne, Anya Jourdan, Jessica Lyons, Abbey Myers and Sarah Foster, and Dustin Wuebbles; 14 great grandchildren: a brother: Howard Sanford Crane of Orion, IL; a sister-in-law, Frances Schneider; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brothers and sisters.
Becky worked as a librarian, then as a teacher at St. Mary’s School in Carlyle. After the school shut down she began working at Farmers & Merchants Bank in Carlyle as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed playing crossword puzzles and word search games. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. George Mauck officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the Manfucci family at St. Mary Church in Carlyle on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials are suggested in memory of Mrs. Manfucci to Community Link or Residential Hospice and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax Street in Carlyle.
