Richard G. “Rick” Boss, Jr., 51, of New Baden, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. He was born September 9, 1961 in East St. Louis son of Richard G., Sr. and Barbara A. (Pfau) Boss. He married Cathlene Victoria “Vickie” Weekley on July 20, 2013 in New Baden and she survives in New Baden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-father, Edwin L. Piere of New Baden; three children, Jeremy (Rebecca) Boss of New Baden, Brandon Boss of Belleville, and Hunter Boss of New Baden; three step-daughters, Stephanie (Brandon) Fehrmann and Karen Korte all of Breese and Christen Korte of New Baden; one grandchild, Josiah Boss; two step-grandchildren, Elijah Korte and Aurora Fehrmann; brothers and sisters, Sherry (Edward) Bray of O’Fallon, Theresa (Rev. David, Sr.) Manley of New Baden, Cathy (Tim) Sage of Troy, Linda Cook of Shiloh, and Steven (Christie) Boss of Mt. Vernon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glenn and Norma Weekley of West Frankfort; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kim and Mel Deimeke and James and Linda Weekley all of Trenton, Keith and Kim Weekley of Murphysboro, Evelyn and Leonard Bybee of West Frankfort and Charles Weekley of Trenton; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Boss, Sr. and Barbara A. (Pfau) Boss Piere. Mr. Boss was a truck driver for Rent-A-Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church of New Baden where he was the sound room director, faithful at the church and God’s service where he loved to sing. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of New Baden with Rev. David Manley, Sr. officiating. In keeping with his wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded after the service. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the church or Hempen Funeral Home who is in charge of arrangements.
