Lorrine M. Brandmeyer, 85, of Damiansville, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mar-Ka Nursing Home in Mascoutah. She was born December 8, 1925 in Aviston, daughter of George J. and Theresa (Breiner) Rakers. She married Joseph B. "Joe" Brandmeyer on May 21, 1946 in Damiansville and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2003. She is survived by her children, Mary (Leroy) Toennies of Bartelso, Jackie (Pete) Toennies of Damiansville, Joyce (Pat) Nelle of Huntsville, AR, Mike (Donna) Brandmeyer of Worden, Randy (Rose) Brandmeyer of Shattuc, Stan (Tracy) Brandmeyer of New Baden, and Eric (Geri) Brandmeyer of Edwardsville; 28 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Marvin (Anita) Rakers of Damiansville, and James (Jeanette) Rakers of Mascoutah; a sister, Jane McManemy of O’Fallon; and three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marie & Edgar Netemeyer of Albers, Viola Brandmeyer of Damiansville, and Doris Brandmeyer of New Baden; she is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by twin daughters, Jean and Joan Brandmeyer who died in infancy; a brother, Daniel Rakers; a sister, Lillian Rakers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Clara Brandmeyer, Henrietta Brandmeyer, Rev. William Brandmeyer, Tony Brandmeyer, Frank Brandmeyer, Aloys "Ollie" Brandmeyer, Frances and Raymond Wiegmann and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Wilhelmina Brandmeyer. Mrs. Brandmeyer was a member of St. Damian Parish and Altar Sodality in Damiansville. She was a CNA at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Damian Cemetery in Damiansville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Damian Parish, Mater Dei High School or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
