Roy L. Brown , 82, of New Baden, IL, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill. He was born on September 2, 1922, in New Memphis, Ill., son of Alfred F. “Al” and Fannie (Roseberry) Brown. He married Ruth Baggette on October 11, 1941 in St. Charles, MO and she survives in New Baden. Also surviving are his children, Bonnie Brown of Crystal City, MO and Donna Hoover and husband Ron of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Shirley Heimberger and husband Howard of The Villas, FL; and a brother-in-law, William Baggette of Granite City, Ill. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marcellus Brown, and a sister-in-law, Mary Baggette. He worked for Vangenhen & Sons in Belleville, Ill for 35 years. He was a former trustee for the Village of New Baden and he loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Interment will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call Friday, September 2, 2005 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the New Baden Park and will be received at the funeral home.
