Brown, Ruth

Ruth N. Brown, 85, of New Baden, died Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born April 7, 1925 in Dover, TN daughter of Robert and Dora Baggette. She married Roy L. Brown on October 11, 1941 in St. Charles, MO and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Brown of Crystal City, MO and Donna (Ron) Hoover of Edwardsville, IL; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Howard Heimberger of The Villas, FL. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, William Baggette; a sister-in-law, Mary Baggette; a brother-in-law, Marcellus Brown; and a friend, Bessie Godair. Mrs. Brown was a salesperson for World Book Encyclopedia. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden with Msgr. Jerome Hartlein officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden.
