Carol Jean Lucille Macke

Carol Jean Lucille Macke, nee Goebel, age 71, of Trenton passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. She was born in Breese, IL on May 29, 1950, the daughter of Raymond and Rosalia (Rakers) Goebel. She married Floyd Macke at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden on May 17, 1969 and he survives in Trenton.

In addition to her husband of 52 years, she is survived by two sons: Todd Macke and wife Tamara and Clay Macke and wife Joelle all of Trenton; grandchildren: Ellie Paige Macke and special friend Royce Sinkler, Karlie C. Macke and special friend Dalton Panzau, Seth Macke, Trey A. Macke, and Cole J. Macke; great-grandson, Kash Panzau; a sister, Nancy Ross and husband Larry; sisters-in-law, Marilyn VonHatten, Jeanne Deien, Blanch Goebel and Rita Goebel; brother-in-law, Ron Deutschmann; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father, and siblings: JoAnn Deutschmann, Franklin Goebel, and James Goebel; brothers-in-law: Victor VonHatten and Donald Deien.

Mrs. Macke was a member of St. George Parish in New Baden. She worked at the Wesclin School District as a cook for a short time and ran a daycare for over 30 years. She loved to decorate her home for all of the seasons and holidays, so much that she was known by her family as Christmas Carol. Her family meant everything to her and she loved having them around anytime she could.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Msgr. David Darin officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 until 9:45 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggest memorials made in memory of Carol to the American Heart Association and will be received at church or at Nordike Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover St, New Baden, IL 62265.
