Carole Jean Nordike, age 79, of Aviston passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was born in Breese on July 23, 1940, the daughter of Henry “Pipe” and Kathryn “Katie” (Stark) Marcus.
She is survived by her children Keith (Becky) Nordike of Aviston and Vicky (Dennis) Fuehne of Damiansville; her step-children: Sharon (Mike) Seelhoefer of Damiansville, Deanna (Ken) Papproth of Collinsville, Bill (Liz) Nordike of Granite City, Kelly (Cheryl) Eversgerd of Germantown, and Donna (Alan) Deien of Breese; her grandchildren: Nicholas Stockert, Jordan Nordike and special friend Chasidy, Breanne Burton and Kaitlyn Burton; her cousin, Richard Stark of Porter, TX; family friend, Tom Heydt of Scottsdale, AZ; as well as all of her nieces, nephews, and extended family from the Nordike family.
In addition to her mother and father, Carole was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Baum and Brother, Robert Baum.
Carole worked at Basler Electric Company in Highland before becoming a beautician. She was a licensed beautician from 1980 until 2005, a licensed real estate agent from 1996 until 2004, and a school bus driver from 2004 until 2012. She enjoyed camping and all of the activities that came with it, especially cooking hotdogs over campfires and making s’mores. She loved socializing and spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Aviston Park, a celebration and luncheon will immediately follow the service and continue until 2:00 P.M.
Memorials made in memory of Carole are suggested to the Western Clinton County Senior in Trenton, Residential Hospice, or Aviston Countryside Manor and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home.
