Charles Forest “Bud” Parker of Carlyle died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Fireside House in Centralia, IL at the age of 79 years. Bud was born February 6th, 1934 in Chrisman, IL son of Frank and Margaret (Craft) Parker, also of Chrisman.
He attended school near Chrisman, IL and graduated from Scotland High School in 1952. After high school Bud went into the Navy and served the country for 4 years. After serving in the Military he worked at the family farm while attending trade school to become an electrician. Forest worked in the Chicago area until retiring in the late 1980’s.
Carlyle, IL was the next chapter where Bud purchased a bar, The Flamingo, and made many great friends from the area. He loved fishing and hunting, and being with good friends.
He is survived by three sisters. Marilyn Schmauss in Rockford, IL; Marian Alongi in Rochelle, IL; and Eleanor Shreve in Elmhurst, IL. Bud also had many nephews and nieces which he loved dearly. Bud was preceded in death by a brother Howard Parker.
Friends may visit with the Parker family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday 2-4:00 PM with a funeral service following at 4:00 PM with Rev. Keith Michaels officiating. A grave side service will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Chrisman on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
A memorial for Bud has been established in the name of Forest “Bud” Parker.
