Clarence “Little Doc” Burnett, age 56, of Carlyle passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home. He was born in Breese on June 27, 1962 the son of Clarence “Doc” and Bonnie (Schubert) Burnett. He married Lois Jean Pejakovich in Carlyle on April 26, 2002 and she survives in Carlyle.
In addition to his mother, father and wife Doc is survived by three daughters: Jessica, Amy and Brandy; his son, Leslie Anderson; siblings: Jeff Burnett and wife Diane of Carlyle, Tim Burnett and wife Trish of Carlyle, and Laura Friz and husband Matt of Millstadt; five grandchildren: Charles and Taniyah Braggs, Kayla and Kamron Wheelan, and Alex Scott; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doc worked for Newman Carriers where he operated a tank truck. When he was not working he loved to smoke and barbecue all sorts of meat. He was a BBQ pit master in his own right. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music, especially the classic rock deep tracks.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM followed by a memorial service that will begin at 7:00 PM at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Matt Friz officiating.
Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday at the Carlyle Township Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery pavilion.
Memorials made in memory of Doc are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice and will be received at the Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
