Clifford W. Foulon of Carlyle died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, IL at the age of 93 years. He was born in Bond County, Illinois on January 4, 1916 the son of Gideon O. and Bertha (Broder) Foulon. He married Mary Thelma Goldsmith, and she preceded him in death.Mr. Foulon is survived by a daughter: Merijean Webb and husband David of Oakland Township, Michigan; a son: Clifford Markam Foulon of Gary, Indiana; a sister: Ethyl Canner; and three grandchildren: Thomas A. Webb and wife Katie Soso, Natalie J. Webb and Jeffery V. Foulon.Mr. Foulon was an educator having served as the principal at District 144 in Markham, Illinois. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and served the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Hazelcrest, Illinois, the Masonic Lodge in Henry, Illinois, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Independent Order of Forresters.Funeral services fro Mr. Foulon will be Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Tommy Chapman officiating. The interment will at Smith Grove Cemetery near Millersburg at 1:30 P.M.The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle which is serving the family.Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Mr. Foulon’s family at www.frerkerfuneral.com .
