Clifford Emil Mollet

Clifford Emil Mollet, age 84, of Beckemeyer died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 11, 1931, the son of William and Irene (Meier) Mollet. Mr. Mollet lived in Bartelso until the age of 10, then moved to Germantown. He married Mary Ann Leitsch on April 22, 1950 at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle and she preceded him in death on November 25, 2012.

Mr. Mollet is survived by two daughters: Cathy Stevens of Sandy, Utah, and Tina Sterkis and husband Gary of Bartelso; his son Clifford “Chuck” Mollet and wife Tracy of Wentzville, Missouri; his sister: Anita Wellen; his brother: Ron Mollet and wife Dianne; his sisters-in-law: Edna Mollet, Sue Farmer, Judy Eilers, Charlene Leitsch, and Georgia Goldsmith and husband Shelby; Brothers-in-law: Tom Leitsch and wife Darlene, David Fulford and wife Anita; ten grandchildren: Todd Kuhl and special friend Nikki, Guy Kuhl and wife Amy, Brad Kuhl, Jamie Campbell and husband Mark, Kim Rickhoff and husband Jerry, Karl Sterkis and wife Shannon, Karyn Sterkis, Shawn Mollet, Nick Mollet and special friend Amanda, and Brian Mollet and special friend Heather; seventeen great grandchildren: Taylor, Riley, Isabella, Gavin, Emily, Keegan, Kelsey, Hannah, Alyson, Vincent, Amelia, Ayden, Jack, Kaylyn, Kamari, Hailey, and Gracie; two great great grandchildren: Rhett and Payton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Shirley McGlasson; two brothers: William “Sonny” Mollet, and Robert “Roy” Mollet; his son-in-law: Bob Stevens; his brothers-in-law: Ed McGlasson, Alfred "Otto" Wellen, Bob Berger, Paul Leitsch, Walter Eilers and Gene Farmer; and two sisters-in-law: Alice Mollet and Mary Berger.

Mr. Mollet worked at Wee Walker Shoe Factory until 1966 then became a union carpenter with local 602 until he retired in 1996. He was a #2 lifetime member of the Beckemeyer Washer Club and lifetime member of the Beckemeyer Community Development Club. He enjoyed making daily trips to Wally’s, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle and again on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 9 until 10:30 AM, also at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Beckemeyer.

Memorials in honor of Cliff are suggested to St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Beckemeyer Fire Department, or to the charity of donor’s choice and will be accepted at Nordike Funeral Home in Carlyle.
