Colgin, Harry

Harry L. Colgin, 85, of Hugo, OK, formerly of Peoria, IL, died on July 27, 2005 at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, TX. He was born on March 11, 1920, in Hogtown, TX, son of Lee C. and Ruth E. (Dickerson) Colgin. He married Hallie Caringer in 1944 in Ironton, MO and she preceded him in death on July 30, 1987. Mr. Colgin is survived by three children, Bruce Colgin and wife Rachel of Peoria, IL, Sharon Levy of Studio City, CA, and Donald Colgin and wife Sandy of Oceanside, CA; a brother, Ray Colgin and wife Donna of Hugo, TX, and a sister, Helen Foster and husband "Gib" of Barefoot Bay, FL; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a retired machinist for the Caterpillar Company in Peoria, IL. Funeral services will be held at Hempen Funeral Home, New Baden, IL at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2005, conducted by family and friends. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lebanon, IL with Pastor Steven Friese officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to United Way and will be received at the funeral home.
