Corliss Evette Wright

Corliss Evette Wright, passed away peacefully at her home in New Baden on January 1, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on February 4, 1968, in Belleville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Sindel) Alexander, and they preceded her in death.

Corliss dedicated over 35 years of her life to her career at Walmart. She began her journey in Belleville, Illinois, before moving to North Carolina to work at Statesville Walmart. Then, she returned to Illinois, where she continued her service at Walmart in Belleville until her passing. Her unwavering commitment to her job exemplified her work ethic and dedication, which earned her respect among her colleagues and customers.

Corliss was a nurturing and devoted family member. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, Lilah and Jaxsyn, ensuring they felt the depth of her love and support. Corliss is survived by her daughter, Kindra Warning, and husband, Brandon of New Baden; her sister, Connie Alexander Meyer of Iowa; her nephews, Thomas Meyer and wife Violet and Andrew Meyer; and her beloved aunts and uncles, Dave and MaryAnn Papproth and Louis and Jane Sindel, along with many dear cousins and friends. 

Visitation will be held at Nordike Funeral Home, 15 E Hanover St, New Baden, IL 62265, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will take place starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery, 1101 Mascoutah Ave, Belleville, IL 62220, commencing at 12:30 PM.

Corliss Evette Wright's unwavering spirit, dedication to her work, and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials to the Ronald McDonald House are suggested in memory of Corliss and will be received at Nordike Funeral Home, 15 East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
