Kim D. Cronk, 62, of New Baden, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, IL. He was born August 18, 1948 in Williamsport, IN, son of James Roy and Martha Jean (Allen) Cronk. He married Julie M. Oliveri on June 7, 1982 in West Lebanon, IN and she survives in New Baden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brandon J. (Danielle) Cronk of Kankakee, IL, Rachele J. (Eric) Hull of Trenton, IL, and Jason R. Cronk of New Baden, IL; one grandchild, Camie Rae; one brother, Rex J. (Monie) Cronk of West Lebanon, IN; a sister-in-law, Sue Cronk of Williamsport, IN; a brother-in-law, James V. Oliveri of Elverta, CA; his mother-in-law, Bobbi Hintz of Carmichael, CA; and also survived by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David A. Cronk and his father-in-law, Rocky Oliveri. Following his retirement from the United States Air Force in 1987, he continued to work in civil service for TRANSCOM at Scott Air Force Base. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Viet Nam. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, class of 1966. He was a member and current commander of the VFW Post 3642 in New Baden, a member of the American Legion Post 321 in New Baden, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1453 in Attica, IN. He was a Cubs fan, enjoyed bowling and was also a rodeo hand for C-Bar Rodeo Company in Farina, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Gretchen Sterret officiating. Burial will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, IN. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL. A Memorial Service with Rev. Gretchen Sterrett officiating will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the American Heart Association and will be received at either funeral home.
