Cyrilla F. Schlautmann of Bartelso died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center at the age of 88 years. She was born in Bartelso on January 20, 1921 the daughter of Henry and Irene (Loepker) Merscher. On April 11, 1945 in St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso she married Alfred Schlautmann and he preceded her in death on June 23, 1964.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Harry, Clarence, Edward and Ralph Merscher; two sisters: Mary Dolores Merscher and Irene Warnecke; a son-in-law: Stephen Swagler; and a brother-in-law: David Wallace.Cyrilla is survived by three daughters: Jeanette Chambers and husband Rick of Effingham, IL, Marjorie Swagler of Shattuc and Dolores Sudholt and husband Joe of Evansville, IN.; five grandchildren: Kelly Sager and husband Matt, Kevin Chambers and wife Bobbie, Jason Swagler and wife Erica, Rob Swagler and wife Melissa, and Carri Keating and husband Kevin; nine great grandchildren: Mitchell, Michael and Max Sager, Madison and Mallory Chambers, Olivia Swagler, Iris Swagler, Alissa and Kayla Keating; one brother: Leroy Merscher of Bartelso; and two sisters: Marjorie Wallace of Litchfield and Jean Weh of Litchfield.Cyrilla worked hard all her life and retired at the age of 82. She loved to quilt in her spare time. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church, the Ladies Sodality and Young at Heart.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating.
