Darrell Crisel of Bartelso, IL died Saturday January 17, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical in Sat. Louis, Mo at the age of 63 years.He was born in Breese on September 27, 1945 the son of Earl and Alice (Tombs) Crisel. He married Pat Boatright on February 15, 1969 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso and she survives along with a son: Jeff Crisel and wife Shelley of Carlyle; sisters: Geraldine Rohde of Chicago Heights, IL and his twin sister Carol Deien and husband Bob of St. Peters, MO.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in -law Gene and Mary Ann Maue and Gary and Bonnie Aussieker all of Bartelso and sister-in-law: Sandy Crisel of Metropolis; and many nieces and nephews.Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Lester Crisel; sisters: June Rolfingsmeyer and Thelma Phillips; father-in-law and mother-in-law Otis and Laura Boatright; brother-in-law: Fred Rohde and Christopher Rolfingsmeyer.Darrell was a retired sergeant at the Vandalia Correction Center where he worked for 25 years. He served in the United States Army during Viet Nam. He was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso where he was an Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Bishop Althoff Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Bartelso Knights of Columbus, Catholic War Veterans, Bartelso American Legion, the Carlyle V.F.W., and the Bartelso Community Development Organization. He enjoyed sports and spending time with his two favorite animals - Rocky and Shadow.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating. The interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery with military rites accorded.Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Tuesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or on Wednesday from 8 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.Memorials are suggested to the Clinton County Relay For Life, St. Cecilia Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
