Deloras C. Terveer, 76, of New Baden, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She was born January 15, 1939 in Oakdale, the daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Stein) Buss. She married Roy Terveer on September 23, 1959 in St. Libory, IL and he survives in New Baden.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Don (Cindy) Terveer of New Baden, Debbie (Jeff) Kramer of Bowling Green, OH, Mark (special friend Amy Sulya Stephens) Terveer of Collinsville, IL, and Melissa (Andrew) Brezinski of Madison, AL; her grandchildren, Brent (Callie) Terveer of Katy, TX, Brittany (Ryan) Ottensmeier of O’Fallon, IL, Nathan Gay of Bowling Green, OH, Matthew Kramer of Bowling Green, OH, Jacob (special friend Taylor Wasser) Terveer of Granite City, IL, Kamryn Terveer of Troy, IL, Loren Terveer of Troy, IL, Gage Terveer and Bailey Terveer both of Collinsville, IL; her sister, Rosemary (Dan) Terveer; her brothers, Andrew (Ruth) Buss and Jerome (Judy) Buss; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Arthur & Carol Terveer, Robert & Diane Terveer, Estelle & Daniel Dalman, Paul Terveer, and Marilyn Buss.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Buss; and her sister and brother-in-law, Rita & Roger Rulevish.
Deloras had a zest for life, and that was proven by her strong faith in the Lord. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in New Baden. Before retiring, she was the Dietary Supervisor at the Shrine of Our Lady of The Snows in Belleville. Deloras enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and was especially proud of her roses. She was a great cook, a lifelong Cardinals fan, and was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.
Memorials may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center and will be received at the funeral home.
