Dennis Francis Rakers, age 77, of Carlyle died on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. He was born on October 22, 1942 the son of Frank and Bertha (Huelsmann) Rakers.
He is survived by his children: Deb (Brian) Pillow, Ken (Theresa) Rakers, Tim Rakers, Kimberly (Kevin Goebel) Rakers, and Paula Rakers; his siblings: Ruth Gerstner, Carl Rakers, Virgil (Beverly) Rakers, Betty (Leonard) Voss, and Mary (Larry) Howell; Sister-in-laws: Jane Rakers and Susan Rakers; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Rakers; his siblings: Bert (Sylvia) Rakers, Jerry (Dolly) Rakers, Robert Rakers, Maurice Rakers, Marcel Rakers, and Jean (Don) Mueller; brother-in-law, Bob Gerstner; and sister-in-law, Janie Rakers.
Dennis was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to fish, hunt, and work.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle at a later date.
