Jane F. Deutsch, 84, of Breese, died Friday, March 25, 2011 at Clinton Manor in New Baden. She was born April 26, 1926 in Aviston, daughter of John and Clara (Renschen) Zurliene. She married William A. "Bill" Deutsch on October 18, 1958 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2008. She is survived by a son, David (Caroline) Deutsch of Breese; two daughters, Jean (Tom) Mahoney of O’Fallon and Jan (Mark) Dall of Aviston; five grandchildren, Hillary (Christopher) Frost, Clinton Dall, Morgan Dall, Lydia Dall and David Morris; two great-grandchildren, Austen Jane Frost and Charles Joseph Morris; two sisters, Margaret Billhartz of Breese, and Pat (Clayton) Abel of Belleville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice Zurliene of Fairfield, Barbara Zurliene of Highland, Marjorie Deutsch of Evansville, IN, Kyrle Deutsch of Belleville and Charles & Maxine Deutsch of Mountain Home, Ark. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Claire Deutsch; six brothers and a sister, Benedict Zurliene, David Zurliene, Louis Zurliene, Barbara Brunsmann, Tom Zurliene, Jim Zurliene, and Phillip Zurliene; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lil Zurliene, Wade Brunsmann, Joan Zurliene, Norbert Billhartz, Fred Deutsch, Marjorie Deutsch, and Bernice and Hilbert Keilbach. Mrs. Deutsch was a homemaker and she enjoyed sewing, cooking and entertaining. She was a member of St. Augustine Parish and Ladies Sodality in Breese and the Breese Historical Society. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
