Mildred L. Deutschmann, 90, of New Baden, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Clinton Manor in New Baden. She was born November 28, 1921 in Breese, daughter of John and Gertrude (Henke) Haar. She married Clarence L. Deutschmann on April 24, 1939 in New Baden and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1995. She is survived by three sons, Ron (Jo Ann) Deutschmann, Dan (Charlotte) Deutschmann, and Lewis (Donna) Deutschmann, all of New Baden. grandchildren, Rodney (Robin) Deutschmann, Tonya (Curt) Beer, Patricia (special friend. Craig Lappe) Deutschmann, and Bryan (Geneva) Deutschmann; great- grandchildren, Tara Deutschmann, Alexis Deutschmann, Trista Beer, Rachael Beer, Haley Rose Haas, and Emma Irene Deutschmann; a sister, Lucille Klingman of Albers; a brother, Keith (Linda) Haar of New Baden; and two sisters-in-law, Rita Haar of New Baden, and Bernice Slaven of Sparta. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters; Loretta Deutschmann and Ramona Deutschmann; three grandchildren; Tina Deutschmann, Stacy Deutschmann, and Dwayne Deutschmann; brothers and sisters; James E. Haar, Agnes Macke, John Haar, Catherine Macke, and Mary Ann Ford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry Macke, Laverne Klingman, Florence Haar, Herman Macke, and Ed Ford. Mrs. Deutschmann was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Parish and the New Baden American Legion Post 321 Auxiliary where she served as President for 4 terms. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Gene Neff officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. The American Legion Auxiliary will visit at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made for Masses, to Heartland Hospice or Clinton Manor Activity Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
