Dolores Peek, 84, of Aviston, died Monday, June 22, 2020 at her home. She was born November 20, 1935 in Germantown, the daughter of John & Josephine, nee Leonard, Albers. She married Paul J. Peek November 17, 1953 at St. Felicitas Church in Beaver Prairie and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2004.
Dolores is survived by her nine children, Chuck (Donna) Peek of Aviston, Linda Peek of Freeburg, Rick (Mary) Peek of Aviston, Debbie (special friend, Dennis Nordike) Peek, Nancy (Bill) Schomaker, and Barb Boggs all of Carlyle, Randy (Kim) Peek and Shelly (Dan) Pickett all of Aviston, and Stacey (Jim) Hettenhausen of Okawville; 14 grandchildren, Brett (Taylor) Peek, Zachary (Alex) Peek, Amy (John) Raterman, Danny (Beth) Peek, Nicole Peek, Tyler Peek, Laurie (Matt) Netemeyer, Sarah (fiancé, Matt Loepker) Schomaker, Courtney (fiancé, Mike Krystopa) Schomaker, Brittany (Lorne) Shepherd, April Pickett, Adam Pickett, Megan Hettenhausen, & Taylor Hettenhausen; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lou Heimann of Aviston; and two brothers, Eugene Albers of Breese, and Norbert (Ruth Ann) Albers of Beckemeyer.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Albers; a sister, Millie Renschen; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gus Renschen, Esther Albers, Bernell Loepker, Marcel Heimann, Marcella & Vincent Ortmann, Lorraine & Victor Strake, Vic Peek, Adele Delong, and Ruth & Dan Simonoff.
Mrs. Peek worked at Central High School and Artex International. She was a member of the Aviston American Legion Post 1239 Auxiliary as well as on the decorating committee, quilt committee, and booking the legion. Dolores was also a member of St. Francis Parish and was a choir member since 1970 and also the Resurrection choir. She belonged to the water aerobics group, the Red Hat ladies, card clubs, and Meals on Wheels.
A Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in Aviston. The family welcomes visitors but respectfully requests no hugs or handshakes, and to maintain social distancing. Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Parish, St. Francis Parish Choir Fund, or Siteman Cancer Center and will be received at the funeral home.
