Doris Jean Puckett

Doris Jean Puckett, 70, of New Baden, died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon. She was born October 14, 1952 in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of Leslie and Marie McCann. She married Terry Puckett March 5, 1981 in Belleville and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2020.

Doris is survived by her children, Tammy (Kevin) Monahan, John (Barb Pees) Gehlhausen, Terry (Mandy) Puckett, Marc (Kelly) Gehlhausen, and Ty Puckett; grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, Matthew, & Michael Monahan, Zachary, Elizabeth & Dylan Gehlhausen, and Braydon & Cameron Puckett; great-grandchildren, Mason, Adrian, Damon, Milena, Arya, Ethan, Brianna, Delana, & Michael; her sister, Diane Demko; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lawrence Spencer, Jerry Puckett, Gary & Theresa Puckett, Charles Hadley, Lynda & Kenneth Greer, and Diane & Crafton; and numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a step-son, Shannon Puckett; her sisters, Eleanor McCann, Marita Holtman, and Marie Spencer; a brother-in-law, Dwaine French; and sisters-in-law, Brenda Puckett, Pamela Hadley, and Sandy French.

Mrs. Pucket worked in Civil Service at Great Lakes Naval Base and Scott Air Force Base. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and painting ceramics.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nordike Funeral Home in New Baden.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be received at the funeral home.
