Dorothy M. Demith

Dorothy M. Demith, 79, of Erie, CO, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019 Longmont, CO. She was born August 10, 1939 in Milford, IL, the daughter of Lee and Elizabeth, nee Waterstraat, Ervin. She married Jerome Demith June 14, 1958 in Chicago Heights, IL and he preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Frank Demith of Martinsburg, WV; a daughter, Judi Morell of Erie, CO; grandchildren, Frank Morell, Nick Morell, Angelina Morell, Cara Winkler, Kimberly DuVernois, Gabriele DuVernois, Jackie Rose, and Nicolle Bradford; great-grandchildren, Lucas Morell, Bennett Winkler, Eddie Rose, Alaina Rose, Claire Rose, and Mary Rose; and a sister, Esther Beard of Ozark, MO.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Ervin and Donald Ervin.

Mrs. Demith was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and dogs. A dedicated member of her United Methodist Church, always ready to help others. Loved to watch her grandchildren participate in activities and enjoyed laughter and dancing. Other interests included cooking, baking and listening to country music and gospel music.

Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at McKendree Chapel Cemetery in Keyesport.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
