Dorries, Robert

Robert E. "Bob" Dorries, 82, of Breese, IL died on Monday, October 10, 2005, at Caring First in Breese. Mr. Dorries was born on November 13, 1922, in Wade Township, Clinton County, IL, son of Otto and Lillie (Rudolph) Dorries. He married Alvina A. Schleper on November 9, 1949 at St. Bernard Church in Albers and she preceded him in death on March 8, 2000. He is survived by a son, Glenn B. Dorries and wife Judy of Breese; two grandchildren, Angie Pollmann and husband Jim and Shelly Ritzheimer and husband Kyle; four great-grandchildren, Mitchell & Jacob Pollmann and Carter & Nolan Ritzheimer; a brother, Wilbert Dorries and wife Esther of Little Prairie and a sister, Dorothy Maue and husband Bob of Beckemeyer. Mr. Dorries grew up on a farm and always enjoyed working on the farm. He also worked as an auto mechanic and retired from the maintenance department at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese. His hobbies were fishing and woodworking. He was a member of St. Augustine Parish and Men’s Sodality. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at St. Augustine Church in Breese, IL with Rev. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow at St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese, IL. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005 or from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 12,2005 at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Research or to the donor’s choice and will be received at the funeral home.
