Eaton, Betty

Betty Ann Eaton, 75, of Breese, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Countryside Manor in Aviston. She was born October 29, 1937 in Breese, daughter of Fred and Veronica (Leonard) Robke. She married George W. Eaton January 18, 1958 in Germantown and he preceded her in death July 1, 2009. She is survived by her children, Craig Eaton of Maryville, Lisa (Roger) Ball of Springfield, and Kelly (Tom Golder) Toennies of O’Fallon; five grandchildren, Ericka, Anna, Evan, Drew, and Tia; a sister, Lu (Roger) Thien of Breese; and a brother, Jim (Barb) Robke of Aviston. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Eaton was a secretary at Scott Air Force Base, a volunteer for the food pantry, and also worked the crisis hotline. She was a member of St. Dominic Parish and Altar Sodality, and the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Betty had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants, and she loved to crochet. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday, August 16, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life and will be received at the church or Hempen Funeral Home in Breese who is in charge of arrangements.
