Ebert, Don

Don A. Ebert, 77, of New Baden, IL died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at his home. He was born September 25, 1929 in Maryville, IL, son of Charles and Alva (Harper) Ebert. He married Margaret LaVerne Cox on December 21, 1959 in St. Louis, MO and she preceded him in death on March 2, 1997. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Howell of Keller, TX; three grandchildren, Gary Howell and wife Hollie, Alex Howell and Andrea Howell; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kameron and Tyler Howell; two sisters, Marilyn Ebert Placek of Omaha, NE and Vida Schoenfeld of An Antonio, TX; and nieces, nephews and many special friends in the New Baden area. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Before his retirement, he worked for Granite City Steel and then owned and operated Cycle Products, Inc. in Granite City, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL with Rev. Mike May officiating. Burial will follow at Mascoutah City Cemetery in Mascoutah, IL. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Baden Park Fund and will be received at the funeral home.
