Donald Roy "Frog" Edwards, 75, of New Memphis IL, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his home. He was born March 27, 1935 in North Braddock, PA son of Benjamin and Anna (Brown) Edwards. He married Virginia Furneaux on December 3, 1956 in Pittsburgh, PA and she preceded in death on November 18, 2007. He is survived by his children, Martha Edwards of New Memphis, Donald Edwards of Pittsburg, PA, Benjamin (Dawn) Edwards of Baltimore, MD, Joseph Edwards of Pittsburg, PA, Katherine (Stan) Denton of New Memphis, Virginia (Larry) Schuff of Trenton, and James (Gina) Edwards of Munhall, PA; 12 grandchildren, Timothy (Natalie) Edwards, Antoinette (Jason) Klaeser, Rebecca Edwards, Brian (Lori) Schuff, Jeanine Edwards, Belinda Edwards, Amanda (Josh) Whitaker, Brittney Denton, Joseph Edwards, Ashley Denton, Rachel Edwards, and James Edwards; and eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Anna "Honey" Hearn of Turtle Creek, PA, Ruth Galloway of Port Vue, PA, James Edwards of Houston, TX, Charles Edwards and Nancy Barberi of Turtle Creek, PA and Dale Edwards of Wilmerding, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jonathan Edwards, and three brothers and three sisters. Before his retirement, Mr. Edwards was a steelworker at a steel mill in Pittsburg, PA. He enjoyed fishing and yard and garage sales. A service of remembrance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden, IL with his son, James Edwards, presiding. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
