Eilering, Mary

Mary A. Eilering, 90, of Albers, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. She was born November 25, 1916 in Aviston, daughter of George and Catherine (Von Laar) Zurliene. She married Benedict "Dix" Eilering on October 16, 1945 in Aviston and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1998. She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Lasala and husband Ernest of Denver, CO, Janice Smith and husband Mike of Topeka, KS, Joyce Richman and husband Darwin of Albers, and Diane Holtmann of Germantown; nine grandchildren, Daniel Lasala, Gina Lasala, Amanda Lasala, Sarah Foster and husband Derek, Abby Smith, Caitlin Richman, Shelbi Richman, Luke Holtmann and Emily Holtmann and fiancé Dave Litteken; one brother-in-law, Vincent Eilering and one sister-in-law, Irene Hegger both of Albers. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Eilering, four brothers, John Zurliene, Edward Zurliene, George Zurliene and Tony Zurliene; two sisters, Anna Rickelmann and Kate Richter; and one son-in-law, Ken "Tex" Holtmann. Mrs. Eilering was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Parish and Altar Sodality. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2007 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of St. Joseph Hospital or Caring First Nursing Home Hospice Unit and will be received at the funeral home.
