Caroline C. "Carrie" Eilermann, 99, of New Baden, died May 11, 2006 at Four Fountains Convalescent Center in Belleville, IL. She was born March 9, 1907 in Breese, daughter of Herman and Theresia (Wesselmann) Toeben. She married Frank H. Eilermann on October 24, 1928 in New Baden and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1977. She is survived by two sons, Ralph Eilermann and wife Mary of New Baden & Franklin Eilermann and wife Jo Ann of Highland; six daughters, Jane Strube and husband William of Belleville, Rita Fischer and husband Nelson of Belleville, Helen Bartling and husband Don of Chesterfield, MO, Eileen Peters of New Baden, Carol Litteken and husband Aloys of Kirkwood, MO and Roni Juracek of Freeburg; and 36 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Toeben of New Baden. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Sax and a son, Joseph Eilermann in infancy; three brothers, Ben Toeben, Ted Toeben, & Lambert Fehlker; two sisters, Anne Rakers and Rose Wellen; three brothers-in-law, Henry Rakers, John Wellen and Joe Dulle; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Dulle & Emma Fehlker; and two sons-in-law, Paul Peters and Jack Sax. Mrs. Eilermann was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Altar Sodality, CK & L of I, and Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden with Rev. Donald Blaes and Msgr. Ted Bauman officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in New Baden. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2006 and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006 at Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden. There will be a prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belleville Relay For Life (American Cancer Society) or to the donor’s choice.
